Baidu Inc
Baidu is best known as China’s leading search company. It runs the Baidu search engine and related information services that help people find web pages, news, maps, video, and local services. It mainly sells advertising and paid promotion to businesses that want their content to appear in search results and across Baidu’s content apps. Beyond search, Baidu also sells cloud services and AI tools to companies and government customers. These include computing, data, and software services that help businesses build applications, manage data, and use artificial intelligence. Baidu also works on autonomous driving and other AI projects, where it earns money through software, partnerships, and related service arrangements. What makes Baidu different is that it sits at the center of China’s internet search market while also acting as an AI infrastructure provider. That gives it two main ways to make money: advertising from consumer internet traffic and business contracts for cloud and AI products. In plain terms, Baidu turns search traffic and technical know-how into revenue from both marketers and enterprise customers.

AI mix shift: Baidu said AI-powered businesses made up half of Baidu General Business revenue, with AI Cloud Infra and AI applications both showing strong momentum.
Cloud growth: AI Cloud Infra revenue rose 50% year over year, led by GPU Cloud revenue that surged 283% and kept accelerating.
Ad pressure: Management said online marketing revenue will likely stay under pressure in the second half as AI search transformation continues and monetization is held back for now.
Robotaxi expansion: Apollo Go hit major overseas milestones in Hong Kong, Dubai, London, Switzerland, and Kazakhstan, while Q2 rides were temporarily affected by regulatory adjustments in some domestic cities.
Capital markets: Baidu is moving toward a voluntary conversion to a Hong Kong dual primary listing, with an extraordinary general meeting set for August 26 and completion expected within this year if approvals are received.
