Poste Italiane SpA
Investor Relations

Poste Italiane is Italy’s national postal and delivery company. It carries letters and parcels, runs sorting and logistics services, and handles last-mile delivery across the country. It also sells shipping and mailing services to households, small businesses, large companies, and public institutions that need reliable ways to send documents, packages, and payments. The company also makes money from financial and insurance services through its BancoPosta and Poste Vita brands. It offers payment accounts, money transfers, prepaid cards, savings products, life insurance, and related services through its post office network and digital channels. That means part of its business looks like a bank and insurer, even though its roots are in mail delivery. What makes Poste Italiane different is that it sits at the center of Italy’s everyday infrastructure. Few companies combine a nationwide postal network, parcel delivery, payment services, and retail financial products in one place. Its model depends on fees from delivery and logistics work, plus commissions and interest-like income from savings, payments, and insurance services.

AI Summary
Q2 2026

Record performance: Poste Italiane said first-half 2026 was another record, with revenue of EUR 6.8 billion, adjusted EBIT of EUR 1.8 billion and net profit of EUR 1.2 billion, all improving year on year.

Strategy shift: Management outlined a major reorganization: a single financial hub, a hub-and-spoke postal network, and broader use of AI to improve sales, service and efficiency.

TIM deal: The company said the TIM transaction has strong market backing, the offer period is open until September 11, and it still targets closing by Q3 '26 with a combined business plan in Q1 '27.

Capital and funding: Poste said it has secured financing for the cash portion of the TIM deal and does not plan a hybrid bond; it also highlighted a very strong balance sheet and solvency position.

Outlook: Management reiterated stand-alone guidance and said 2026 total portfolio return guidance was lifted to around EUR 2.8 billion, helped by higher rates, while also pointing to further NII upside from 2027 onward.

Cost savings: AI, workforce redeployment and network changes are expected to drive meaningful efficiencies, including around EUR 150 million of annual IT savings and EUR 50 million of customer-relations savings over four years.
