Randgold & Exploration Co. Ltd. is an investment holding company, which engages in the provision of exploration and mining investment services. The company is headquartered in Sandton, Gauteng. The firm holds prospecting rights directly and indirectly through subsidiary companies. R&E has various prospecting rights that it either intends to further develop and promote or sell. The firm's projects include the Doornbosch Project and Du Preez Leger Project. R&E holds the prospecting right for platinum group metals (PGMs), nickel (Ni) and copper (Cu) over the farm Doornbosch approximately 294 kilometers north of the town of Steelpoort, Mpumalanga province. The Du Preez Leger Project comprises approximately four exploration areas in the Southern Free State Goldfields, adjoining producing gold mines, including Harmony's St Helena, Unisel, Merriespruit shafts and Gold Fields' Beatrix Mine. The Du Preez Leger Project is situated in the Free State Goldfields and is situated on the southern edge of the Witwatersrand Basin.
