McEwen Inc
McEwen Mining is a precious-metals mining company that explores for, develops, and produces gold and silver. It owns or has interests in mining projects in the Americas, where it extracts ore, processes it, and sells the resulting metal products to refiners and other buyers in the gold and silver supply chain. Its main customers are the companies that buy mined gold and silver, usually after the metal is poured into doré or sold as concentrate and refined further. McEwen Mining makes money by selling the metals it produces, so its results depend on how much ore it can mine, how efficiently its operations run, and the market prices for gold and silver. What makes the business different is that it sits at the mining end of the value chain, where geology, permitting, and operating know-how matter more than branding or retail sales. It also spends part of its effort on exploration and development, which gives it a mix of production today and potential new mines for the future.

Quarterly setback: Management said this was not the quarter they wanted, with production below plan and costs above acceptable levels, driven mainly by operational issues at Gold Bar.
Gold Bar issue: The main problem was more carbonaceous material than expected, which hurt gold recoveries. The company is expanding metallurgical testing, improving geological models, and adjusting mine sequencing and blending.
Los Azules progress: Management remained upbeat on Los Azules, saying the project has reduced technical risk, advanced permitting, and broadened financing discussions, with FID work still on track for Q4.
Financing path: The current Los Azules financing plan centers on about $4 billion total funding, with roughly 60% debt and 40% equity, and the company wants to limit dilution as much as possible.
Royalty angle: The company is considering keeping the Los Azules royalty inside McEwen for now, while building a broader royalty portfolio and possibly spinning it out later if the timing makes sense.
Cash and dividends: San José had roughly $130 million in U.S. cash and cash equivalents at the end of Q2, and the company does not expect another dividend this year, with dividends more likely to resume next year.
