Boyd Gaming Corp
Boyd Gaming owns and runs casinos and hotels in the United States. It makes money mostly by taking bets on slot machines and table games, while also earning from hotel rooms, food and drinks, and other entertainment at its properties. Its business is built around local and regional casinos that serve repeat customers rather than destination tourists. Its main customers are adults who visit for gaming, dining, and short stays, plus some travelers who use its hotels and resort-style properties. Boyd also reaches customers through online and mobile gaming in states where that is allowed, which lets it extend its casino business beyond the physical property. The company’s revenue comes from customer spending at its owned venues and from digital gaming activity where legal. What makes Boyd different is its focus on neighborhood and regional casinos tied to local markets, especially in the Midwest and South, rather than flashy mega-resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. That gives it a steady role in the casino industry: it owns the properties, manages the gaming floor, and captures spending from everyday players who return often. In simple terms, Boyd is a casino landlord, operator, and entertainment business all in one.

Revenue and margins: Boyd said first-quarter company revenue reached nearly $1 billion and EBITDAR was $317 million, with property margins again above 39%.
Midwest and South strength: The company’s largest segment posted broad-based growth, with revenue up 4% and EBITDAR up 5%, helped by stronger play and capital investments.
Las Vegas headwinds: Locals results were held back by softer destination traffic at the Orleans and by construction disruption at Suncoast, which management said will continue until late in the third quarter.
Online and managed: Boyd reiterated full-year Online EBITDAR guidance of $30 million to $35 million and kept Managed & Other guidance at $110 million to $114 million.
Capital returns: The company returned nearly $170 million to shareholders in the quarter and said it expects to keep buying back $150 million of stock per quarter plus its dividend.
Development pipeline: Boyd highlighted progress on Virginia, Par-A-Dice, Cadence Crossing, and ongoing renovations across the Las Vegas portfolio.
