Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS
Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS is one of Turkey’s main telecommunications companies. It sells mobile phone service, home internet, fixed-line connections, and related digital services to consumers and businesses. Its core job is to own and run the network that carries voice calls, text messages, and data. The company makes money mostly from subscription fees, data and usage charges, and sales of devices and service bundles. It also serves corporate customers with connectivity, cloud, security, and other business communication tools. In addition, Turkcell earns from wholesale network access and from digital products tied to payments, media, and online services. What makes Turkcell different is that it sits at the center of Turkey’s communications infrastructure rather than acting only as a reseller. It controls the network, the customer relationship, and many of the services built on top of that network, which gives it a broad role in both consumer telecom and business connectivity.

5G launch: Turkcell said it successfully launched nationwide 5G on March 31 and framed the rollout as a major competitive win, supported by a stronger spectrum position and aggressive marketing.
Strong growth: First-quarter revenue rose 9% year-on-year to above TRY 68 billion, while EBITDA reached TRY 28 billion with a 41.4% margin and net income increased 15% to TRY 4.6 billion.
Consumer mix: Mobile ARPU was broadly flat because of last year’s pricing actions, contract timing, and higher inflation, but postpaid additions were strong at 661,000 and postpaid share reached 81%.
Guidance caution: Management said it is too early to revise full-year guidance, pointing to uncertainty around Turkey’s economy, inflation, and the duration of the regional conflict.
Cost pressure: Management said higher fuel prices could pressure costs, but the size of the impact is still unclear and depends on how long the conflict lasts.
Digital and fixed: Digital Business Services and data center/cloud were standout growth engines, while fixed broadband also grew well on fiber additions and pricing actions.
