Spire Global Inc
Spire Global builds and operates small satellites that collect data about the Earth’s atmosphere, aircraft, ships, and radio signals. It turns that raw space-based data into information products that help customers track assets, forecast weather, monitor activity at sea, and understand changes in the environment. Its main customers are governments, aerospace and defense agencies, weather and forecasting groups, shipping and logistics companies, and other businesses that need frequent, independent observations of the world. Spire usually makes money by selling data subscriptions, analytics services, and custom contracts that give customers access to its satellite data feeds and software tools. What makes Spire different is that it sits at the point where satellite hardware meets data products. Instead of selling only spacecraft or only software, it owns part of the data pipeline from orbit to finished information, which lets it package space data into recurring services that customers can use without building their own satellite systems.

Beat and raise tone: Spire said first-quarter revenue and adjusted EBITDA came in above the high end of guidance, while full-year 2026 guidance was reaffirmed.
RFGL traction: The company said RF geolocation is now generating revenue, with 5 new U.S. orders and 3 new international customers in the quarter.
NOAA pipeline: Management highlighted more than $150 million of 2026 NOAA opportunities in the pipeline, with microwave sounding and radio occultation the key near-term priorities.
Margin setup: Gross margin reached 44%, up 5 points year over year, and management said operating leverage should become more visible in coming quarters.
Cash position: Spire ended the quarter with about $50 million in cash and marketable securities, then raised $65.5 million net in an April private placement.
Annual guidance shift: The company is moving from quarterly to annual guidance, saying long sales cycles make quarter-to-quarter forecasts too noisy.
