Univest Financial Corp
Univest Financial Corp is a regional financial services company built around Univest Bank and Trust Co. It takes deposits, makes loans, and offers everyday banking services to consumers, small businesses, and commercial customers in its local markets. It also serves clients through mortgage banking, wealth management, and insurance services. The company makes most of its money the way a traditional bank does: it earns interest on loans and securities, then pays less interest on deposits. It also collects fees from services such as cash management, trust and investment accounts, mortgage activity, and insurance brokerage. That mix gives it both lending income and recurring fee income. What sets Univest apart is its role as a relationship-driven community and regional bank rather than a national lender. It focuses on local customers who want personal service, credit decisions, and a broad set of financial products from one provider. That makes it a banking business tied closely to the health of the communities and businesses it serves.

Results: Univest reported net income of $23 million, or $0.82 per share, and said core results were solid despite a $5.2 million OREO valuation adjustment that cut EPS by $0.15.
Growth: Loans rose $101.7 million, deposits increased $119.2 million, and the company said its loan-to-deposit ratio improved by 180 basis points year-to-date versus the first half of 2025.
Margin: Net interest margin expanded to 3.49%, and management now expects full-year net interest income growth of 8% to 10%.
Credit: Credit costs were manageable overall, but the quarter included a $28.6 million commercial loan moved to nonaccrual and a $9.8 million specific reserve, making second-half provisioning more event-driven.
Outlook: The company kept its loan growth, fee income, expense, and provision guidance unchanged, while maintaining an active share buyback plan and a willingness to pursue M&A if opportunities arise.
