Margin pressure: Q4 margins were pressured by the 25 basis point rate cut, a shift in corporate loans toward T-bill pricing, and treasury mark-to-market losses, but management still expects domestic NIM to stay above 3% for FY '27.
Asset quality intact: Management said the quarter’s slippages were seasonal, mostly from agriculture and SME, and not a sign of structural stress; credit cost guidance stays at 50 basis points.
Capital and liquidity: SBI said it has enough capital to support around INR 12 trillion of credit growth, with LCR around 125% at year-end and a comfort range of 115% to 120%.
Strategic shift: The bank is pushing Project Saral, Analytics 2.0, YONO, and district-level market share gains to move from volume-led growth to more value-accretive, fee-rich, and digital-led growth.
New opportunities: Management highlighted opportunity in transmission, data centers, battery storage, green hydrogen, semiconductor-related financing, and other sunrise sectors through more structured financing products.
