ESCO Technologies Inc
ESCO Technologies makes specialized equipment and testing systems that help other companies and utilities build, test, and protect complex products. Its products include flight-test and measurement gear for aerospace and defense customers, radio-frequency shielding and electromagnetic testing chambers for electronics makers, and utility products used on power and grid systems. It also sells inspection and diagnostic tools that help customers check the health of critical infrastructure. The company mainly sells to aerospace and defense contractors, electric utilities, industrial manufacturers, and government and research customers. It earns money by designing and manufacturing these engineered products, then selling them directly and through long-term service and support relationships. A lot of its work sits in niche areas where customers need highly reliable equipment that meets strict technical standards. What makes ESCO different is that it is not a broad consumer industrial company; it focuses on technical problems where failure is expensive. Its businesses often sit between the end customer and the larger system builder, supplying specialized parts, test facilities, and inspection tools that are hard to replace quickly. That gives the company a role as a behind-the-scenes supplier for mission-critical aerospace, defense, and utility infrastructure.

Strong quarter: ESCO said Q2 was another strong quarter, with broad-based revenue growth, record backlog, and improved margins across the business.
Orders and backlog: Orders rose sharply across all three segments, driving backlog to a record level and reinforcing management’s confidence in demand.
Guidance raised: Full-year 2026 adjusted EPS guidance was increased to $8.00 to $8.25, up from the prior outlook.
Megger update: The company said regulatory filings are underway for the Megger acquisition and still expects the deal to close in the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
Segment mix: Aerospace and Defense and Test were especially strong, while Utility Solutions was helped by Doble but weighed on by softer renewables demand at NRG.
Renewables softness: Management said the renewables business remains profitable but is still under pressure from tax credit-related project timing and could stay weak a bit longer.
