Enphase Energy Inc
Enphase Energy makes the power electronics that sit next to solar panels on homes and small commercial sites. Its core products are microinverters, which convert the electricity from each solar panel into usable AC power, along with batteries, monitoring software, and control devices that help manage energy use in the home. It also sells related parts through solar installers and distributors. Its main customers are residential solar installers, homeowners, and some small business customers who want solar plus storage. Enphase makes money by selling hardware, software-enabled products, and related services that are bundled into solar installations. The company sits at a key point in the solar value chain because its equipment connects the panels, the battery, and the grid. What sets Enphase apart is its focus on distributed solar systems rather than large power plants. Instead of one central inverter for an entire roof, its microinverters work panel by panel, which gives installers and homeowners more control over system performance and monitoring. That makes Enphase more of a technology supplier for rooftop energy systems than a traditional utility or commodity hardware maker.

Revenue: Enphase reported Q1 revenue of $282.9 million, with management saying the quarter was affected by higher channel inventory, weaker U.S. residential demand, and a pull-forward effect from tax-credit expiration.
Margins: Gross margin came in at 44% on a non-GAAP basis, above the midpoint of guidance, but management said tariffs and the sale of 2025 production tax credits weighed on reported margins.
Outlook: Q2 revenue guidance is $280 million to $310 million, including about $85 million of safe harbor revenue, and the company expects to under-ship end-market demand by about $25 million to reduce inventory.
Recovery Signs: Management pointed to early improvement in Europe, strong interest in prepaid leases, and growth in U.S. commercial solar as the main offsets to a weak start in the year.
New Products: Enphase highlighted several upcoming products, including the fifth-generation battery, the higher-power IQ9s, a bidirectional EV charger, a commercial battery, and a new solid-state transformer product for AI data centers.
SST Bet: The company framed IQ SST as a new long-term growth opportunity, with customer demos expected later this year, pilots in 2027, and volume shipments in 2028.
