Results: Insperity reported adjusted EPS of $1.31 and adjusted EBITDA of $103 million, both above the midpoint of its outlook.
Growth: Paid worksite employees averaged 303,049, down 1.0% from Q1 2025 and at the low end of guidance, as softer sales and retention outweighed steady client hiring.
Margin recovery: Gross profit fell 3% to $302 million, but management said this was a sharp improvement from the 21% decline in Q4 2025 and a sign the margin recovery plan is working.
Outlook: Full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance stayed at $170 million to $230 million, while worksite employee guidance was cut to 303,000 to 307,000 and adjusted EPS guidance was updated to $1.60 to $2.60.
HRScale: The new HRScale platform is now onboarding early beta clients, with nearly 6,000 worksite employees committed over the next 6 months, and management sees it as a major growth catalyst.
Demand: Management said SMB sentiment weakened meaningfully, with clients more cautious on hiring, spending and the economy, and that macro uncertainty is pressuring sales and retention.
AI: Insperity is using AI internally and plans to expand AI agents across HR360, positioning AI as both an efficiency tool and a potential driver of future demand.
