Ameresco Inc
Ameresco helps large organizations cut energy use and produce their own power. It designs and builds projects such as solar arrays, battery storage, microgrids, energy-efficiency retrofits, and combined heat and power systems. It also upgrades buildings and industrial sites with equipment that lowers electricity, heating, and cooling costs. Its main customers are government agencies, schools, hospitals, utilities, military sites, and commercial and industrial facilities. Ameresco makes money by developing projects, engineering and constructing them, and then earning fees from operations, maintenance, and long-term energy service contracts. In some cases it also owns energy assets and sells the power or energy services those assets produce. What makes Ameresco different is that it sits between the customer and the equipment vendor. It does not just sell hardware; it plans the project, arranges financing or contract structures, builds the system, and often keeps running it afterward. That makes it a useful partner for customers that want lower energy costs and cleaner power without managing the whole project themselves.

Revenue: Ameresco posted $401 million of revenue in Q1 2026, up 14% year over year, with strength across projects and O&M.
Biofuels JV: The company announced a $400 million strategic investment from HASI and a new joint venture, Neogenyx Fuels, which Ameresco says values the biofuels platform at about $1.8 billion.
Backlog: Awarded project backlog rose 20% to $2.8 billion, and total project backlog reached $5.3 billion, pointing to solid near-term visibility.
Weather Hit: Management said adverse weather hurt RNG and solar operations, including freezes at three RNG plants and snow-related disruptions, but underlying portfolio performance remained strong.
Outlook: Full-year revenue guidance was unchanged, while Q2 guidance calls for adjusted EBITDA of $58 million to $62 million and non-GAAP EPS of $0.18 to $0.23.
Capital Plan: The company expects the JV to free up capital for growth, working capital and selective deleveraging, while keeping Ameresco on a capital-efficient growth path.
